Monthly Release Round-up: April 2026

The release schedule is finally starting to pick up some steam. The rest of the year looks pretty packed, and April had a couple of gems too.

Truckfighters, Masterflow

A very traditional, fuzzed-out stoner rock album. Really evokes Kyuss and Dozer, two bands I've been listening to for over 2 decades.

Exactly what you'd expect from an Immolation record: tight, technical, no-frills death meal.

Archspire, Too Fast To Die

The first completely indepedent release from Canadian tech-death giants. A brutal album front-to-back with some really beautiful melodic moments.

Bodysnatcher, Hell Is Here, Hell Is Home

Deathcore. Music for working on your bench press.

Uada, Interwoven

Ostensibly a black metal band, Uada have taken a detour and dropped a really interesting acoustic album. I'm still unsure of exactly how I feel about the cover of Nirvana's "Something's in the Way."

At The Gates, The Ghost Of A Future Dead

The band's final album with deceased frontman Tomas Lindberg hits all the right marks, serving as a tremendous send-off for one of modern metal's most influential groups.

Elegant Weapons, Evolution

A modern take on a classic heavy metal record. The throwback vocals aren't something I enjoy very often, but they pair well with a masterclass in groovy riffing.
