Monthly Release Round-up: January 2026
As per usual, January was a very light month for album releases. Here are the few notable releases from those brave enough to drop a record in the post-holiday lull.
MØL, Dreamcrush
Very strong Deafeaven vibes, but that's not a turn-off for me.

Ov Sulfur, Endless
Saw these guys live last year and they put on a great show. Another solid deathcore band blending other genre elements. The track with exclusively clean vocals, "Wither," is a really emotional number — one of the best songs I've heard in a long time.
Ulver, Neverland
I'm going to include this album, even though it was technically released on December 31st of 2025. Ulver are back to their mostly instrumental weirdness, with this album sounding like a middle-ground between Perdition City and Shadows Of The Sum. All I can ever expect from these guys is the unexpected.

Kreator, Krushers Of The World
This is one of those bands whose name I would just scroll right by for decades. I finally gave this new record a shot because I didn't have a lot of other options and I was very pleasantly surprised. Modernized thrash metal with some symphonic flourishes is something I can get into.
Stabbing, Eon Of Obscenity
Gross, gutteral death grind — just the way I like it. Now I'm even more disappointed that they weren't able to play a 200 Stab Wounds show I went to in 2024, this material sounds like it rips live.
