After a solid month of build up, UFC 141 has finally come and gone. I guess it was a bit greedy to expect a perfect night of picks, but I didn’t expect to be so wrong about how things unfolded; I was shocked, more than once, at what I saw in the fights. That said, I still thoroughly enjoyed the entirety of the broadcast and certainly cannot claim I didn’t get my money’s worth. In the aftermath of this event, the MMA landscape of 2012 just got rearranged significantly.

Despite jumping the gun a couple of weeks ago, this is indeed the final UFC event of the year 2011. Upon reflection, I think one of the main reasons I overlooked this pay-per-view is the fact that this has been one amazing year for fights. The fact that December is closed out with an awesome heavyweight scrap and a solid undercard is a yet another reason it’s good to be an MMA fan.
This week’s installment in my ongoing series of re-posting my Twitter content. This volume’s subjects are random as always. As per usual, if you subscribe to my Twitter feed, then none of this will be new to you.

As the holidays are fast approaching, there will be fewer updates to the site. I have a couple more music reviews slated to appear in 2011, as well as the usual predictions and recap articles for UFC 141 which airs on December 30th.
Back in the very late 1990′s and early 2000′s, when Slipknot were at the height of their popularity, and discussions of said group almost always elicited commentary about Mushroomhead, I found myself following both bands. The similarities between the two groups are superficial and, ultimately, irrelevant as they pertain to things that have nothing to do with the music. Both bands have released a number of albums I’ve thoroughly enjoyed, as well as some releases I would rather not think too hard about.
