Strikeforce – Henderson -vs- Fedor Recap

If you’re a gambler, I am hoping you had better sense than to make most of my picks for the Henderson -vs- Fedor fight card. Suffice it to say, I’m debuting this feature with a crappy record. I’ll be keeping track of how many fights I get right / wrong, and we’ll see where we’re at in a few months; it could be interesting.

Strikeforce – Henderson -vs- Fedor Predictions

While I am looking forward to next weekend’s UFC event, I can honestly say that tonight’s Strikeforce event is one I look forward to with far more anticipation. As I am going to try to do with most major upcoming MMA events, I’ll be posting my predictions well in advance of the event. Here’s how I see tonight’s series of fights unfolding:

Diablo 2 – Part 4

So close, and yet so far away…

I finally made my way to Baal’s lair, but could not defeat all of his minions. I was doing reasonably well until the second-last and final waves; the latter of which I am clearly under-geared to fight. It’s possible I had some bad luck, as I believe their modifiers — like Spectral Hit, or immunities — are randomized, so maybe that was it. Either way, I barely escaped without dying. I gave up pretty quickly, I will admit. I got stuck in one of the random dungeons, and ended up losing about half a million gold from dying a half-dozen times. Having to walk for 10 minutes — as I failed to leave a Town Portal — to retrieve my corpse, several times, was also very frustrating.

I’m almost level 38, so I think if I could slug it out and grind my way through 2-3 of the zones before Baal, I will probably be strong enough to beat his minions. If memory serves correctly, Baal is easier than the last set of minions you fight before the final showdown. Either way, I’m anxious to finally kill the bastard and move on to Nightmare mode; maybe even trying some Cow Level runs.

Random Thoughts – Volume I

Most of these are re-posts from my Twitter account. Rather than arrange some kind of ad-hoc back-up process, I will be intermittently dumping the contents of my Twitter feed here. If you’re one of the few brave souls who actually follows me on Twitter, you can probably skip this post.

MTG – Deck List – Commander – Mono-Green

As it stands, this is nowhere near the “final” version I am working towards; this is, however, what I am currently playing. So far I have had mixed results; sticking with a single colour in Commander is generally not the wisest move, as the strengths and weaknesses of the colour are greatly magnified. In green’s case, this means that blue mages stealing your giant creatures are generally a pain; and you’re pretty much useless when it comes to creature removal. However, I pack a fair bit of removal for non-creature permanents, so it somewhat evens out.

General

Still slugging away on a number of side-projects. I can’t say too much, other than what I’ve already stated before; thedevilsyouknow.com is coming. I personally can’t wait to get it off the ground; the failed launch last year was a bit of a let-down, but I think everyone involved was pretty busy. I must be truly terrible at managing my time; I don’t know how my friends with one, or more — in some cases a lot more — find the time to get anything done, let alone entertain the notion of regularly updating a website. There’s probably a lesson, regarding personal motivation, in that.
