Sorry for the lack of updates as of late. I’m sure both of my readers are devastated — I know I am, so that’s half of ‘em. I don’t have much to say except that I am working on some big changes to the format and content of this site. I’ll be posting my usual UFC pre-fight predictions for UFC 159 in the coming weeks, but updates will be sparse as I get the re-launch done.
Ideally I will have everything done in time for the 2-year anniversary of the site’s re-opening. We’ll see how that goes.

It may be a week late, but here I am with my live recap of the UFC’s latest pay-per-view offering. Attending the event live, at the Bell Centre in Montreal, I had a great time watching the fights and a really awesome vacation timed around the event. After checking out some others’ opinion of the show, it seems like the broadcast commentary differed a fair bit from what I saw transpire at the arena.
Well, the time is finally almost upon us; after dealing with the reshuffling of the initially planned bout between GSP and Nick Diaz — due to the latter’s lack of appearances at media events. There was also the matter of a a lengthy suspension for Diaz following his loss to Carlos Condit, we finally get this match-up as the UFC returns to Montreal for their latest pay-per-view offering.

Until further notice, I will no longer be covering Bellator MMA events. I really like the shows they put on but given that this is a hobby site, I have a number of other projects that will require my personal time. As I continue to work on the presentation of the MMA content on this site, I will try and work other non-UFC coverage into the fold. Until such time, however, I will have to admit that covering all of the UFC and Bellator TV offerings is a full-time job itself.
That said, I encourage all MMA fans reading this page to tune in to Bellator’s preliminary fights on Spike.com, Thursdays, at 8pm EST, and catch the television broadcast on Spike TV at 10pm EST. While not major competitor to the UFC, Bellator has established their own niche and a reputation for action packed fights. I wish I had more time to dedicate to their product.
tonight, the UFC returned to Japan, featuring a collection of prospects and veteran stars from the PRIDE. The preliminary bouts started at 7:50pm EST, with Fuel TV beginning the main card broadcast at 10pm, similar to a pay-per-view broadcast. Aside from the fact it must have been odd for the audience in Japan showing up for fights early on Sunday afternoon, the fact I had to stay up until 1:15am EST to see the whole thing was a bit of a pain.
