This article has been in the works for a while, and was initially supposed to be published before the first pay-per-view event of the new year. In spite of delays, I offer up my breakdown of the previous year’s fights, as well as my predictions and an attempt to analyze my results.
The calendar year of 2012 is finally in the books, and to say it’s been a strange year in mixed martial arts would be an extreme understatement. My article breaking down my successes and failures in predicting the main cards of the year’s UFC pay-per-views is still in the works, but there’s so much more to talk about than just that. This article will also not focus solely on the UFC, so let’s take a look at what 2012 meant for the ever-growing sport of mixed martial arts.
After a little over a week since the finals, I’ve had time to look back and reflect on this past season of The Ultimate Fighter. Each season of the main show — so, excluding the country-specific ones like The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil – will be covered on this site, and following the conclusion of the finale we’ll break down the season as a whole. The Post-Mortem series may be expanded to include other events, but for now will be relegated to events broadcast on television.
