Album Of The Day (February 22nd-26th)
Each week day (holidays excluded), I post an album to my Twitter feed. There is usually some sort of vague theme to the chosen titles, although not always. The only requirement for selections is that they have to be at least 10 years old.
We've got a really mixed bag this week; my personal listening selections were all over the place this week. The list below doesn't even begin to scratch the surface, although the jump from Opeth-era Moonspell to the seminal effort from DJ Shadow should give you a rough idea.
- Exodus, Shovel Headed Kill Machine (2005)
- My Dying Bride, The Dreadful Hours (2000)
- Static-X, Wisconsin Death Trip (1999)
- Moonspell, The Antidote (2003)
- DJ Shadow, Endtroducing (1996)
I was surprised to find out that I wasn't the only person to have Shovel Headed Kill Machine as the sole Exodus record in their collection. My taste for thrash metal has been growing over the past few years, so I ought to give their catalogue a deep-dive at some point soon.
I included My Dying Bride this week for two reasons: this album is tremendous, and I need to remember to check out the new record they released a few months ago. Yet another band I don't give their due often enough.
