Words and things, mostly words.
This marks 2 weeks in a row where we’ve had what ended up being a pretty dreary UFC event that was saved, at the very last minute, but the outcome of the main event. In this case, Anthony Pettis showed he still has some gas left in the tank as he starched Stephen Thompson after being kept at range and picked apart with kicks for the majority of the fight. My Fight Notes article sums up the show pretty well.
Hopefully next week’s offering is a better card, as the main event looks to be really exciting but I’m not keen on more plodding decisions in low-action fights — if that can be helped.
