Words and things, mostly words.
I opted to cancel my Da Zone account for the time being. I’m actually encouraged by the network’s recent announcements regarding the content deals they’ve made for boxing and MMA content; I actually do see a lot of value in the service. The reason I decided to forego the $20 / month cost was that I simply was not going to use it enough to justify the cost. I really wish I liked soccer, or “ball sports” in general, because DAZN has a fairly impressive line-up of non-combat sports.
Right now, I subscribe to UFC Fight Pass and Netflix and do not have cable. At some point in the future, when the UFC moves to ESPN, I am going to have to investigate what the ESPN+ service is going to cost me. I barely watch anything on Netflix and Fight Pass allows me to see early prelims and order pay-per-views. Had I kept DAZN, I would have doubled my bill for no appreciable difference in my day-to-day life.
I will probably sign up again, depending how the service’s expansion pans out. I’ve got a mountain of books I keep acquiring and not getting around to reading, and I need to make a dent in that before I go seeking more ways to zone-out in front of another glowing screen.
